Snap Pixel on a Spotify Link: Free Setup Guide

Add your Snap Pixel to a Spotify link for free. Find the Pixel ID in Snapchat Ads Manager, paste it in Sptfy, verify PAGE_VIEW, and build a Snap audience.

Updated

To add a Snap Pixel to a Spotify link, paste your Pixel ID (a UUID) into Dashboard → Settings → Tracking Pixels in Sptfy; every click of every link you own then fires a PAGE_VIEW before Spotify opens. Snapchat gets less attention from musicians than Instagram or TikTok, which is exactly why a Snap audience of people who already clicked through to your music can be cheap to reach. For the reasoning behind putting a pixel on a link at all, read Spotify retargeting ads for musicians.

What you get

With tracking on, a click shows a small branded page with your cover art for a fraction of a second, 2.5 seconds at most, while the Snap Pixel loads and sends one PAGE_VIEW event with the URL https://sptfy.co/your-slug. Then Spotify opens. It all happens in the background as the fan clicks through, with nothing for the fan to do and nothing for you to install. That is the entire event list: no custom or conversion events, no Conversions API or server-side sending, no advanced matching, and nothing from inside Spotify. It builds a list of people who clicked through to your music.

Step 1: find your Pixel ID

A Snap Pixel ID is a UUID: 32 hexadecimal characters in five groups, 8-4-4-4-12, separated by dashes. As of 2026 you find it in Snapchat Ads Manager: open Events Manager (or Assets → Pixels in some accounts), select your pixel, and the Pixel ID is shown on its overview or settings page. Menus move; if it isn't there, search Ads Manager for "Pixel" or "Pixel ID".

If you don't have a pixel, create one from the same screen. You won't be installing code on a website; you only need the ID. Because Sptfy sets pixels at account level, use one Sptfy account per artist project.

Step 2: paste it into Sptfy

Log in, go to Dashboard → Settings → Tracking Pixels, paste the UUID into the field labelled "Snap Pixel ID", and save. Tracking switches on automatically the first time you enter an ID. The ID is validated on the server, so a truncated UUID or a pasted snippet is rejected rather than silently saved. From then on the pixel fires on every click of every link in your account. To keep one link pixel-free, open it and flip its "Disable Tracking" switch; that link becomes a direct redirect and its clicks still show in analytics.

Step 3: verify it fires

Click your own link from a normal browser, let Spotify open, then check the pixel in Snapchat Ads Manager. As of 2026 its overview shows received events; you should see a PAGE_VIEW with your sptfy.co URL within a few minutes. The Snap Pixel Helper browser extension is another option on desktop, though the Sptfy page hands off quickly, so Ads Manager is the more reliable check. Link-preview crawlers never fire pixels, so pasting the link into a chat proves nothing; click it yourself.

Step 4: build a retargeting audience

As of 2026, in Snapchat Ads Manager open Audiences, click New Audience, and choose the Pixel Custom Audience type. Select your pixel and pick a rule:

  • All pixel visitors. Everyone who clicked any of your Sptfy links.
  • A URL rule, such as URL contains sptfy.co/song-snap. Everyone who clicked one specific link.

Choose the longest lookback window Snap offers, name the audience, and save. Snap fills it as PAGE_VIEW events arrive and needs enough people before ads can deliver; the threshold is Snap's, so let the link run first. Once populated, create a Lookalike Audience from it to reach new Snapchatters who resemble your clickers.

Where Snap fits

Make a dedicated song-snap slug and use it wherever you share on Snapchat. Two benefits: you can build a Snap-only audience with a URL rule, and the Slug breakdown in your click analytics tells you how much of your clicks Snapchat actually drives, which the Referer breakdown often can't, because in-app browsers tend to send an empty Referer.

The Snap Pixel isn't a replacement for the Meta Pixel or the TikTok Pixel; it sits alongside them. Sptfy fires all five networks on the same click, so one link feeds every audience you've set up. Add it if your fans are on Snapchat, skip it if they aren't, and clear the field in Settings at any time.

FAQ

What does a Snap Pixel ID look like?

A UUID: 32 hexadecimal characters in five dash-separated groups of 8, 4, 4, 4 and 12, for example 1a2b3c4d-1234-5678-9abc-def012345678. As of 2026 it is shown next to your pixel in Snapchat Ads Manager. Sptfy takes the ID only, not the code snippet.

Which event does Sptfy send to Snap?

A single PAGE_VIEW on the Sptfy page before Spotify opens. No custom events, no conversion events, and no server-side Conversions API.

Can I run the Snap Pixel together with the other four?

Yes. Meta, TikTok, Google Analytics 4, the Google Ads remarketing tag and Snap all fire together on every click of every link, and each can be set or cleared independently in Settings.
